✅ Why Stones Is Great for Parks

  • Low cost to build and maintain

  • All-ages, all-skill-levels

  • Encourages outdoor play, and community

  • Makes use of natural space, including areas too uneven or wooded for traditional fields

  • Can be used for open play, leagues, or events

📏 Space Requirements

  • A course includes 5 stretches and an optional “X” area (a small technical zone for advanced play).

  • Each stretch varies in size, typically about 15-60 feet long and 3-15 feet wide, completely customized to the terrain.

  • Total space needed: roughly 1/3 of an acre, This area can be wooded, with elevation and natural obstacles (trees, roots, rocks, etc.) left intact, or open grassy spaces, preferrably with some slight elevation changes.
